doubtedly Sutton, who "has done an admirable bit of translation" (4)
is to be vongratulated for "faithfully keeping to the spirit of the
original.” (5)

In 1930 we have no new.translation but allication of
2.0.Slade's 1923 translation of Doctor Graesler and of Eden and
Cedar paul's translatien of Casanova's Homecoming. With Casamova's
Homecoming we have the inauguration of a new police by the pub-
lishers Simon and Schuster whereby they 16ndeavor to give more
readers an opportunity of reading Schnitzler. The volume is included
in their group of "Inner Sanctum Hovels" which sell for one dollars.
Heretofore each book, with the exception of Anatol, published by
Kennerley in 1911 and sold for one dollars, and Bertha Garlan which
in 1917 sold for Sixty cents, had been $1.50 or even $2.50.
Doctor Graesler
After the first publication of Doctor Graesler Ruth Snyder
called Schnitzler "a born story-teller," adding that "he writes
of people as they are." (7) In much the same strain Rose E.Stein
"It is almosturdnny in its ability to portray in cameo
wrote,
like out lines the lightning play of human thoughts and Hnotions."(8)
